  • Rava : 1 cup
  • Mustard : 1 tsp
  • Cumin : ½ tsp
  • Channa dal: : 1 tsp
  • Kaayam (asafoetida) : A small pinch
  • Curry leaves : 8-9, to saute while splattering
  • Chilli : One, finely chopped
  • Ginger : One inch, finely chopped
  • Turmeric : ¼ tbs
  • Oil : 3 tsp
  • Curd, whisked. : ¾ cup
  • Coriander : 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Salt : ½ tsp
  • Water : ½ cup
  • Grind all ingredients well until smooth consistency.
  • Rest 15 minutes till water is absorbed into rava.
  • Add 2 tbsp water to get idli water consistency.
  • Taste the batter and Add salt to taste.
  • Grease the idli plate, place half cashew/ almond in each.
  • Pour rava idli batter.
  • Steam 13 min.
  • Eat well.
